Walmart changes logo- tries to add class

Did anyone else catch the memo that Wal-mart changed their logo? Apparently they also dropped the hyphen and got rid of that annoying bouncing happy face. Their new snow flake looking logo reminds me of Apple for some reason. I think they are trying to turn over a new leaf.
Every time I think of the old Walmart logo I would associate it with white trashieness. Dropping the hyphen made it so much easier on the eyes. Now instead of saying “Wal—-mart” (actually I think it’s just how people talk around here), you gotta say it all one word, superfast, like “Wamar!”.
All this talk about Walmart made me want to go to their site and see the new logo in action. Yeah, It looks great, right below the Classmates.com ad and just above the Sylvan Learning Center ad. I guess they are catering to the crowd that would buy things at Walmart. “Hey Cleatus! Get them fourteen kids in the Dodge Caravan! We just got a smokin’ deal at Sylvan Learning center! Walmart’s got discounts! DISCOUNTS!”
I thought maybe I was missing something. Like all retail stores now days advertise on their page. So I went and checked a couple. Here is what I found:
Advertisements

Feeling a little greedy anyone?
I don’t mind ad’s on free services. But when you gotta buy stuff it seems a little ridiculous. So Walmart, what you are trying to tell me here is that you are not making enough money as is, and you have to put advertisements on your page to boost your income? Yeah, I know, you are going to loose out on that extra 200 dollars a month, but It would add a lot more class to your page if you dropped them. Isn’t that what you were trying to do by changing your logo in the first place?
