Rape & Pillage because of the alcohol in Absinthe? There are so many myths surrounding this poor misunderstood drink. Does anyone seriously think it would be legal in the US if this were the case? Like you, I drink Le Tourment Vert - I love the subtle anise and fennel flavors. I have been drinking absinthe over the last 10 or so years in different parts of the world, some of the products available were dreadful. It is the same as any drink - there is such a wide range and variety available and you have to find something which suits your own personal taste. I like Tourment over ice personally but I have found a few bars in my area serving it in mixed drinks. I sampled a couple recently and really enjoyed them. I had never thought of mixing absinthe previously.

I have tried a few of the other products in the US market and I found they were not as enjoyable as Le Tourment Vert.

I still believe that people rape and pillage because the alcohol in Absinthe. It is different than all other alcohols and will drive you mad. Beware brycon, beware! (imagine an old man shaking his finger with a eye that is almost popping out of its socket.)
