New Years 2008
My kid brother comes up to me yesterday and asks me if I want to go to Las Vegas on a last minute trip. Putting us there at around 9pm. When I found out my girlfriend couldn’t hang out I decided to go with them.
So the four of us pack into my car and the other 3 boys pack into another car and drive up. Stopped in Beaver (coming in, you will see a sign that says “Fillmore Beaver” lol), and found probably the largest rocking chair you have ever seen. Most likely made for some mythical giant who lives in the hills.
We got in at about 9:30, checked into the Rivera hotel. We had to park about 20 blocks away from the hotel in order to find a parking spot. They always say that Las Vegas is one of the most popular places to go for new years.
Since Andy (my brother) and I had just stopped by the liquor store in Provo, we had plenty to drink. Hanging with these kids is always interesting since they are all super loud, and get drunk real easily.
Most of the tail end of the night was a blur for me. Ran into these christian guys telling us we were going to go to hell if we didn’t stop drinking. And other stuff, note the picture. You can drink anything you want while walking up and down the strip.
Apparently I ended up pushing over some barriers, and I guess I the cops made me pick ‘em all up. I seem to remember it being kind of fun. Of course they were all pissed and trying to teach me some sort of life lesson. Later I lost the map to the hotel room and thought I was going to sleep outside with the homeless people.
The next morning we went out to Arizona Charlies for some ultra cheap meal action. 3.50 for N.Y. steak and eggs with hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. Amy won 241 dollars while waiting in line for a seat. She filled up my tank of gas.
