Larry’s poem

My friend Larry Kyles wrote this poem.  Here is a link to where I found it.

The Elm Tree

tall and bold

with a face like the moon

stiff at the knees

reserved, but not shy

unaware of her effect on me,

her roots trace back across the ocean

silent as night,

she dances in the wind,

her leaves rustle in flowing curls

she smells like fall;

of wind, pomegranates and wild flowers

thoughts of her linger in my memory

i shall miss her most

once she has gone forever
