I usually get up and make instant coffee.  We ran out and we bought regular coffee yesterday. We have this cloth filter thing (looks like a little butterfly catcher) to steep the coffee with.  I couldn’t find it, so I improvised.

I found some coffee filters in the pantry that apparently came with the house. Some plastic bowls, cut some holes in the bottom, put the filter in the bowl, dropped the bowl on top of a extra large cup and voila! You have yourself a coffee maker.

Just heat the water and pour into the filter.

(btw I found that you have to cut the holes around the sides, because if you cut one just in the middle, the weight of the water in the filter blocks the flow of water).

Did make a bit of a mess but the coffee tasted great!

The different brands of coffee you can get are pretty intense. Most of the brands look like firecracker packages. (i.e black background, chinese fonts and bright red or yellow colors)
